Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and GYST ("GYST", "we", "us"). They govern your access to and use of the GYST website at startgyst.com and the GYST application (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

GYST is an AI-assisted job-search platform. It lets you search for jobs, save them to an application board, generate tailored CVs and cover letters, get help answering application questions, find and message referral contacts, and automatically track your applications using detected emails. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use GYST. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide about yourself is accurate.

You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Authentication is handled by our provider, Clerk. Please notify us promptly at legal@startgyst.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You are responsible for keeping your profile information accurate.

GYST is offered as a single monthly subscription plan with a 7-day free trial. The following terms apply to billing.

• Free trial. A valid payment method is collected when you start your trial. Your trial lasts 7 days.
• Auto-charge. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins automatically and your payment method is charged for the monthly plan. It then renews each month until you cancel.
• Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the current paid period, and you will not be charged again after that.
• Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods. The free trial exists so you can evaluate GYST before you are charged.
• Price changes. We may change the subscription price. If we do, we will give you advance notice, and the new price will apply to your next billing period. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new price.

Payments are processed by Stripe. GYST does not store your full card details. You authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method according to the plan you select.

You agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe the rights of others while using the Service.
• Upload false, misleading, or fabricated information into your profile, CV, or applications.
• Attempt to access, disrupt, reverse engineer, or overload the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use the Service to send spam, harass others, or scrape data at scale.
• Share your account, resell the Service, or use it on behalf of others without our permission.
• Bypass, disable, or interfere with security or rate-limiting features.

You own the content you provide, including your profile, CV data, and the documents generated for you. To operate the Service, you grant GYST a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide and improve the Service for you, including sending relevant text to the AI and infrastructure providers described in our Privacy Policy. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to reasonable backup and legal-retention periods.

GYST uses AI to generate CVs, cover letters, outreach messages, and answers to application questions. These outputs are drafts intended for you to review and edit. AI can produce content that is inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. GYST does not guarantee interviews, job offers, employment outcomes, or the accuracy of any generated content or third-party job data. You are solely responsible for reviewing, correcting, and deciding what you submit to employers, and for ensuring it is truthful and appropriate.

The Service integrates with third parties such as Google (Gmail), Stripe, and referral data providers, and it may link to external sites and job listings. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. GYST is not responsible for third-party services, their content, or their availability. When you connect an integration such as Gmail or a referral-data API key, you confirm you are authorized to do so. GYST's Gmail access is read-only and is used only to detect job-application emails for your application tracker; see our Privacy Policy for details.

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content we create, is owned by GYST and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as allowed by these Terms or by law.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any generated content or job data will be accurate or lead to any particular result.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GYST and its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold GYST harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or create risk or legal exposure for us or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of [insert governing jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and GYST agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [insert governing jurisdiction] for any dispute that is not otherwise resolved.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. If you continue to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
